Really Living Begins Now

Robert J Profile PictureIntroductions Are In Order

You can call me old fashioned if you like. But I believe in personal introductions so we get to know each other and see if we can be of help to one another.

I am Robert James (Not an unusual name, but then I am not unusual either, just a Brit extending my sources of income to include the internet). My pen name online tends to be Robert J.

I originate from  the county of Devonshire, England but now live in the Highlands of Scotland. The scenery is still picturesque but the hills have become mountains and the seascapes are spectacular.

The challenges of living are similar though. Low wages from small companies with no career path. The scenery is spectacular but we starve to death while admiring it!

Now To You

You are here because you are worried aren’t you?
A major change of life is approaching you as regular employment comes to an end.
But you are not sure that you are ready for retirement?
You are also concerned that the money just will not be there to really enjoy the years still ahead.
For you both this is a major moment in your lives.

Worried WomanTraditionally the man was the main earner but the wife often went out to work too – getting a ‘pin money’ job. But over the years that ‘pin money’ job has become a more essential source of income to meet household bills.

Looking at the regular news you do not get the feeling of hope do you? Doom and gloom everywhere for the economy and society in general. BUT just remember that the news is there to report the exceptions to the normal. But it keeps on about the same old things so we get the impression that the news IS the normal!!

BUT I can show you here that there is a way forward, a way to improve (vastly improve) your income to oil your retirement years and really open up to you what possibilities are still awaiting you in life.

My Personal Journey

I too am on a journey through life. Due to many reasons my employment has not been what I hoped it would be but we often need to make changes for domestic reasons to support our families.

dcha-logoBack in the 90’s I had a job with Devon & Cornwall Housing Association. I was employed as a caretaker for a block of flats housing mostly families who were waiting news on being granted social housing.

(If I can find it I will put up a certain picture. It is of me shaking hands with the Director as he hands me my certificate. I was in the very first group of caretakers in the UK to undergo a national qualification).

NortelI then moved on to employment with Nortel. They were (and I believe still are) a major Canadian company involved in telecommunications. At that time they had a major manufacturing plant in Paignton, Devon, England. Due to a new contract to provide a 1500km telephone network in China they needed to ramp up production. One of those employees was me earning much better wages and being in a more technical environment. Their employee count went from 1,500 to 5,000 in 18 months.

Nortel was not the only telecoms company expanding at that time. But for some reason the market forces had created a ‘bubble’ situation. And like all bubbles it burst in a spectacular manner.

Due to loss of employment and changes in family circumstances (to be simplistic about it), I moved from Devon up to Scotland.

Here I had employment with the Highland Council as a full time cleaner in offices, schools and other buildings.

bt-logoThe opportunity came up to go and work for good ol’ BT in one of their call centres here in the highlands. With my voice style (and country bumpkin accent :)) I don’t really belong in a call centre.

The job was interesting though. I got to talk with business people all over the UK who were having issues with their broadband connections. (I apologize if you were one of those people who were on hold for 40 minutes or more. But I liked to take my time and actually do what was necessary to get your problem sorted. I was often in trouble for not keeping to the 700 seconds allowed time per call)

TAKING CONTROL OF MY OWN FUTURE
As with many major companies the management can’t leave things alone. So it was with BT. In their infinite wisdom it was decided that our Internet Service desk was in the wrong call centre so it got moved from Alness to Dundee. I did not want to follow the job as I had family obligations here. But being made redundant by BT was a turning point in my life. I began to look online for sources of income. That was when I discovered the world of Internet Marketing (IM). Basically this is selling products that people can download straight onto their computers. This often takes the form of eBooks, videos, or podcasts.
____________
IM is not to be confused with online marketing. This is the concept that Amazon and eBay and thousands of companies use. They sell physical products that are bought through their websites but are delivered by courier or postal companies to the customer’s home.

Getting into Internet Marketing

Beginning back in 2010 I began learning to build my own websites promoting ways people can tap into thousands of tv channels – free to view ones. I received a small commission for each person who signed up to the scheme. Then the rage was helping people design APPS. This lasted a short while, died down a bit but has resurfaced again now.

But none of these – or other topics -really brought in the income that I was looking for.

But along the way I came across many people who were making substantial incomes from the internet so I knew it was possible. I bought into programs, subscribed to webinars, bought software programs and purchased stacks of eBooks (and even more eBooks).

There was quite a learning curve to follow but eventually I discovered a secret. Once I knew that and implemented it, my fortunes changed.

The secret was this – ALL the people making decent to serious money online were not doing it all by themselves.

They tried to give that impression. They say they are ‘living the laptop lifestyle’ running their business from anywhere in the world they happen to be. BUT in reality EVERY ONE of them has a team of people behind them making things happen. Sometimes they are direct employees and sometime they are freelancers (outsourced tasks).

Then it happened!!

£13,400 (after tax) — MY INTERNET INCOME 2015 (on top of my normal earnings from my full time job back as a cleaner for the highland council).

I went from peanuts to the above income in 2015 once I had my ‘team’ in place. This team is actually an online community that I became part of. There is a small membership fee but that is more than compensated for by being enabled to find success in this business. I discovered WORDPRESS – a type of website design that makes creating websites fast and stylish without the need for coding or technical knowledge. I discovered training that covered all the latest aspects of developing an online business. I became part of a community of like-minded people from across the world all with the same goal of developing a successful online income.

£16,400 (before tax so far in 2016 from my online business endeavours with 6 months still left of the tax year)

Did you know that seniors – just like you and I – are the fastest growing part of the population to be getting online to run our own businesses? Technology moves on rapidly but with each advance tasks become much easier to do.

YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!!!!! You are not alone. You can follow step-by-step instructions as you have done hundreds of times already.

TOOLS Of THE TRADE

Like all jobs, employments, or tasks you need the right tools to do the job. You may be viewing this website on a smart phone or tablet computer. BUT you will need access to a laptop or desktop computer to do your business on. If you need to purchase one then make sure you hang on to your receipt as it will be tax deductible.

Rembrandt

Rembrandt

Are you a Rembrandt, Picasso or Monet? We all might be able to do a reasonable sunflower picture but would it compare with Van Gogh’s?

But I am sure we can all do a much better job if we paint-by-numbers. We see the layout, the image and know where the various colours, shades and hues go. By carefully noting the lines we can fill in the boxes and come up with a reasonable finished painting.

The same is true of preparing materials for Internet Marketing. You need to be able to produce a volume of material quickly and to a good standard. Luckily there is a paint-by-numbers solution. By making use of templates, you just substitute your own words and images for those in the template. But you see the layout (which you can adjust) and can pick up a lot of ideas for your own content by seeing the template headings.

My friend DB has spent years creating his own online products (of which I have bought and used quite a few). Just recently he has brought together years of experience and put together his Universal Content System. Over 400 (yes it is BIG) pages of templates and guidance to creating a vast array of materials and online products.

I would strongly advise having this tool in your toolkit as it will get your own business off to a flying start. Why not take a look HERE?

MOTIVATIONS

You might think that you are being motivated by the idea of just making more money. But in reality it is what we do with money that really motivates us. Why not take a look at my Motivation page? The link is in the menu in the header of this page.

It is important that you know why you are doing this as there will be times you feel overwhelmed or results are not what you wanted in the early days. You need to know why you need to keep going.

BECOMING FREE OF THE CHAINS OF PENSION BENEFIT

Benefits keep you in chainsDon’t get trapped in the mind set of benefit claimants. We run a community job club weekly in the village hall. It is amazing to see the number of people trapped in the ‘benefit mindset’. They say things like ‘I can’t afford to take that job as I will lose my benefits’ BUT the job itself will pay them much more in wages than they lose in benefits over the longer term. Socialists promote money benefits as a way of ‘helping the poor’ but it also becomes a chain preventing them for helping themselves to advance in life.

Here in the UK we have pension credits as a way of topping up retirement money for those without a decent pension income (which is a growing number). BUT the government has made a decision on how much income a person or couple should have. If they dare to have more than that then deductions are made from their pension credits.

DON’T allow yourself to get caught in this trap. YOU decide how much income you want for your retirement years.

Through developing a successful IM business you will have far, far greater income than people on pension credits.
Why not get started right now?
